Jiva PC

Jiva PC was built to stock computers, parts and accessories using a reputable PC parts supplier, using a stock update feed written by Paul Campbell that automatically updates stock levels and adds new products, pulling its information straight from the suppliers website.
The Zencart template was designed from scratch to give a unique look to the site and to add extra functions such as the jscript banner slideshow used in the header and on the main page.
I could have used a flash slideshow but I decided that the jscript slider would load much quicker and is a lot easier to work with than flash, and the end result is every bit as good as a flash slideshow only with a nice small page load time.
The jiva pc logo image was created by Donna Burrell.
Seeing as it’s a PC shop, I thought I would use a gadget type idea with the template, hence the main content container looks like a smart phone. I quite enjoyed building this site and I do think the finished site does look rather nice, even if I do say so myself.
